Provincial emergency management deploys structural protection units and air tankers to safeguard Interior communities.
KELOWNA, B.C. — Premier David Eby met with regional emergency coordinators in the Okanagan today to oversee joint wildfire containment operations and community evacuation logistics.
More than 1,200 frontline BC Wildfire Service personnel, specialized structural defense crews, and heavy water bombers have been mobilized to protect residential corridors and critical highway links.
"Our top priority is keeping people and communities safe," Premier Eby stated. "We have deployed every available provincial asset and are coordinating round-the-clock emergency accommodation for displaced residents."
Evacuees can access automated emergency financial assistance and lodging vouchers via the provincial emergency portal.
