Mayor Michelle Wu expands Tuition-Free Community College plan to cover biotech lab certification programs.
BOSTON, Mass. — Mayor Michelle Wu announced that Boston's Tuition-Free Community College program will now cover specialized laboratory technician certifications and biomanufacturing associate degrees at Bunker Hill Community College and Roxbury Community College.
The policy ensures Boston residents can gain credentials to enter the region's booming biomedical cluster without incurring student debt.
"We are opening doors so that every Boston resident can participate in the innovative industries headquartered right here in our city," Mayor Wu stated.
Leading biotechnology companies have pledged direct interview opportunities for all program graduates.
