Chicago Park District engages 45,000 students in free athletics, swimming, and arts programs.
CHICAGO, Ill. — Mayor Brandon Johnson joined youth leaders at Humboldt Park to celebrate record community enrollment in the Chicago Park District's free summer athletic leagues and creative arts camps.
The programs offer safe, enriching spaces with free daily nutritious meals and mentorship from Chicago public safety officers.
"When we provide our youth with positive opportunities and safe spaces, our entire city thrives," Mayor Johnson said.
Registration for after-school academic tutoring and gymnastics programs opens next week across all municipal parks.
