SURREY, B.C. — Councillor Doug Elford has proposed expanding community centre operating hours across Newton and Guildford, providing free athletic and arts programming on Friday and Saturday evenings.
"Giving youth safe, supervised spaces to play sports, learn music, and socialize is one of the most effective crime prevention strategies we have," Elford stated.
The initiative will partner with local athletic associations and community volunteers.
