NAPLES, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis visited the Everglades agricultural reservoir site to review ongoing environmental restoration milestones funded by the state's record conservation budget.
The multi-phase water storage and treatment reservoir will treat and redirect clean water south into Florida Bay, preventing harmful coastal estuary discharges.
"Protecting the Everglades and our natural water resources is foundational to Florida's economy and our quality of life," DeSantis said.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection confirmed real-time water sensor deployments along the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie estuaries.
