Tax relief packages for outdoor recreation, back-to-school supplies, and home hardening save Floridians $1.2B.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis highlighted the economic benefits of Florida's broad sales tax relief holidays, which eliminated state sales taxes on school items, children's clothing, and disaster preparedness supplies.
The policy ensures that Florida families keep more of their hard-earned money during the critical back-to-school shopping season.
"Florida continues to run a record budget surplus while providing historic tax relief to our residents," DeSantis said.
Retail merchant associations reported a 14% increase in in-store family purchases during the promotional tax-free windows.
