TORONTO, Ont. — Premier Doug Ford and transportation officials announced accelerated construction milestones for the Ontario Line subway project, authorizing around-the-clock tunneling under downtown Toronto.
The 15.6-kilometre rapid transit line will connect Exhibition Place through downtown to the Ontario Science Centre, easing congestion on the existing Line 1.
"We are building the largest transit expansion in North America to get commuters home faster," Ford stated.
Metrolinx confirmed real-time acoustic and vibration monitoring to minimize disruption to residential corridors.
