SURREY, B.C. — Councillor Gordon Hepner reaffirmed Surrey's commitment to agricultural sustainability, leading council approval for enhanced ditch clearing and flood gates along the Nicomekl River basin.
"Surrey's fertile farmland produces food for the entire province," Hepner stated. "We will protect our agricultural heritage while investing in proper drainage."
Local farmers welcomed the capital upgrades ahead of the autumn rain season.
