Texas Department of Transportation initiates lane expansions on I-35 and I-10 commercial freight arteries.
AUSTIN, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Transportation Commission approved a $1.8 billion infrastructure package targeting major commercial trucking corridors across Central and North Texas.
The construction contracts include adding managed express lanes, improving bridge clearances, and modernizing highway interchange nodes along Interstate 35.
"As the leading export state in the nation, Texas requires world-class roadways to move goods safely and efficiently," Governor Abbott stated.
Advanced digital weigh-in-motion sensors will be installed to streamline commercial vehicle safety compliance without causing tollway bottlenecks.
