State invests $200M to construct cryogenic quantum research labs at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park.

CHICAGO, Ill. — Governor JB Pritzker celebrated the groundbreaking of Phase 2 at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park on Chicago's South Side, joined by leading researchers from the University of Chicago and Northwestern University.
Establishing Global Quantum Leadership
The campus will house high-performance cryogenic facilities and shared testing labs for quantum computing hardware startups and defense technology innovators.
"Illinois is rapidly becoming the quantum capital of the world," Governor Pritzker declared in Chicago. "We are creating thousands of high-tech jobs and anchoring breakthrough scientific discoveries right here in Illinois."
