Governor Kathy Hochul Cuts Ribbon on $150 Million Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Erie County

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Governor Kathy Hochul joined local civic leaders and economic development officials in Erie County to officially open a new $150 million advanced manufacturing and aerospace systems engineering facility, marking one of the largest single industrial capital investments in Western New York this year.

Capital Allocation and State Support

The 300,000-square-foot facility expansion was supported by performance-based tax credits and regional power allocation incentives administered through Empire State Development (ESD) and the New York Power Authority (NYPA):

• Excelsior Jobs Program: Up to $12 million in state performance credits tied directly to net-new high-skill engineering and advanced machining jobs.
• Western New York Economic Development Fund: Dedicated state capital assistance for specialized clean-room and high-precision testing infrastructure.

"New York continues to lead the nation in reshoring critical manufacturing and aerospace engineering capabilities," Governor Hochul stated in Buffalo. "This $150 million investment solidifies Western New York as a premier hub for high-tech industrial innovation and creates high-wage career pathways for our workforce."

Regional Economic and Workforce Impact

The facility creates more than 500 direct manufacturing and systems engineering positions while securing over 2,200 existing aerospace and defense supply chain roles across the Niagara Frontier. In addition to private manufacturing, the campus features a collaborative workforce development laboratory established in partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY) Erie to train apprentices in precision robotics and CNC operations.

Next Steps and Industrial Expansion

Full commercial production at the Erie County complex is scheduled to ramp up through the final quarter of 2026. The facility will supply control systems for civilian commercial aircraft and renewable power generation turbines.
