VANCOUVER, B.C. — Mayor Ken Sim announced the deployment of 10 new Car 100 integrated mental health response vehicles in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health.
"By pairing psychiatric nurses directly with police officers, we ensure individuals in crisis receive immediate clinical support," Sim stated at Vancouver Police Headquarters.
Data indicates integrated units reduce hospital emergency room wait times and divert vulnerable individuals to community care.
