SURREY, B.C. — Councillor Linda Annis has tabled a governance notice of motion calling for the creation of an independent auditor general committee to review Surrey's $1.2-billion annual municipal budget.
"Surrey taxpayers deserve total transparency and accountability on every major capital dollar spent," Annis emphasized.
The proposed oversight committee would publish quarterly financial performance audits on infrastructure and policing expenditures.
