SURREY, B.C. — Councillor Mandeep Nagra urged council to implement small business property tax sub-classes to ease overhead costs for family-owned restaurants and service shops.
"Independent small businesses are the backbone of Surrey's economy. We must ensure they can thrive amidst inflation," Nagra said.
The motion directs staff to prepare tax mitigation models for the upcoming 2027 municipal budget cycle.
