Manitoba government continues 14-cent per litre provincial gas tax holiday to lower everyday commuting costs.
WINNIPEG, Man. — Premier Wab Kinew confirmed the extension of Manitoba's provincial fuel tax exemption, keeping gas prices lower for families, farmers, and commercial truckers.
Provincial data indicates the policy has saved the average Manitoba household hundreds of dollars while keeping the province's inflation rate among the lowest in Canada.
"We are delivering practical cost savings directly to working people across Manitoba," Premier Kinew said.
Finance officials noted that retail activity and consumer confidence have benefited from the sustained tax relief measure.
