OTTAWA, Ont. — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre renewed his call for tighter federal bail legislation, highlighting concerns raised by Canadian police chiefs regarding repeat violent offenses.
"Canadians deserve safe streets, safe parks, and safe transit systems," Poilievre stated. "Violent repeat offenders must not be granted instant bail."
Poilievre pledged that a Conservative government would mandate strict sentencing minimums for human trafficking and armed carjacking.
