TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis signed comprehensive insurance market stabilization legislation, detailing regulatory reforms that have reduced lawsuit abuse and led multiple national carriers to enter Florida's home insurance market.
The reforms strengthen the Florida Optional Reinsurance Assistance program and require expedited claim determinations following hurricane events.
"We took decisive action to stabilize our property insurance market, stop fraudulent litigation, and create competitive options for Florida homeowners," Governor DeSantis stated in Tallahassee.
State insurance regulators confirmed that rate filing increases have moderated significantly compared to previous seasons.
