Premier Scott Moe Announces Major Rail Corridor Upgrades for Saskatchewan Potash Exports
Saskatchewan and freight rail operators partner to double siding tracks and speed up mineral exports to Pacific ports.

SASKATOON, Sask. — Premier Scott Moe announced joint capital investments with CN and CPKC Rail to expand high-capacity passing sidings along primary freight routes across Saskatchewan.
Feeding the World
The upgrades will allow 200-car potash trains to travel efficiently from Saskatchewan mines directly to West Coast maritime export terminals.
"Saskatchewan produces the essential agricultural fertilizer that feeds the world," Premier Moe stated in Saskatoon. "Ensuring our rail corridors operate at peak efficiency is vital to our economy."
Export Capacity
The siding expansions will increase daily provincial potash rail throughput by 15%.
