Senator Mitch McConnell Secures $65M Federal Water Infrastructure Grant for Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. — U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell announced that Kentucky has been awarded $65 million in federal funding to modernize aging municipal water treatment systems and extend municipal water lines to underserved rural hollows.
Protecting Public Health and Sanitation
The funding will replace lead service pipes and upgrade pumping stations across Western and Eastern Kentucky.
"Access to clean, dependable drinking water is fundamental to the health and economic viability of our Kentucky communities," Senator McConnell stated.
Project Allocations
Grants will be administered directly to local water utility districts over the next 24 months.
