TransLink and City of Surrey partner on dedicated bus lanes to improve transit frequency ahead of SkyTrain extension.
SURREY, B.C. — Surrey City Council under Mayor Brenda Locke has approved dedicated transit priority lanes along Fraser Highway, enabling expanded RapidBus service between Surrey Central and Fleetwood.
The initiative provides immediate transit capacity improvements for commuters while construction progresses on the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain line.
"Surrey is the fastest growing city in B.C., and our residents need fast, reliable transit options today," Mayor Locke stated.
Construction of queue-jump lanes and passenger transit shelters will begin early this fall.
