SURREY, B.C. — Mayor Brenda Locke announced a $45 million civic recreation investment package aimed at modernizing public community centres and expanding sports facilities across Newton, Guildford, and South Surrey.
Investing in Families and Youth
The multi-year capital plan includes expanding indoor ice rinks, constructing all-weather soccer pitches, and upgrading seniors' activity programming spaces.
"Recreational infrastructure is essential to community well-being and keeping young people active and engaged," Mayor Locke remarked during the announcement.
Project Phasing
Tenders for facility upgrades will be issued throughout the final quarter of 2026.
