ERCOT enhances grid reliability with rapid-dispatch battery reserves during peak summer electricity demand.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), alongside state utility commissioners, reported that more than 3,000 megawatts of newly commissioned utility-scale battery storage came online this summer.
The battery fleet provides instant frequency response and energy reserves during triple-digit heat spikes, ensuring seamless grid stability.
"Texas is building a robust, all-of-the-above energy infrastructure that guarantees reliable power for our growing population and industries," Abbott remarked.
Private energy developers continue investing billions in West Texas solar and battery co-location projects under ERCOT's deregulated market framework.
