KYIV, UKRAINE — Long-range aerial warfare intensified across Eastern Europe early Saturday morning as Ukrainian defense forces and Russian military units launched coordinated reciprocal drone barrages targeting critical rear-echelon fuel depots and rail switching hubs.

Ukrainian officials confirmed that interceptor batteries downed 34 of 42 incoming Russian Shahed-type drones directed at electrical substations in Kharkiv and Poltava. "Our air defense personnel are performing heroic feats daily to protect municipal grid stability and industrial infrastructure," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.
