VANCOUVER, B.C. — Vancouver City Council passed updated Broadway Plan zoning regulations today, allowing increased commercial density for life sciences, clinical research, and tech startups adjacent to upcoming subway stations.
Strengthening Innovation Districts
Mayor Ken Sim emphasized that the Broadway corridor is poised to become Canada's premier biomedical and innovation hub.
"By modernizing our zoning, we are attracting global life sciences investment and creating high-wage jobs in Vancouver," Sim said at City Hall.
Development Milestones
New zoning provisions take effect immediately for eligible commercial and mixed-use applications.
