Ontario Provincial Police Renfrew detachment examines road conditions and mechanical factors after a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle incident west of Ottawa.

ARNPRIOR, ON — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Renfrew Detachment released preliminary collision findings Saturday regarding a fatal motorcycle incident that occurred along Highway 17 in McNab/Braeside Township.
Emergency services responded to reports of a motorcycle leaving the roadway near the Campbell Drive interchange. OPP technical collision investigators determined that the lone rider lost control negotiating a gradual curve, succumbing to injuries on scene despite immediate life-saving interventions by County of Renfrew Paramedics.
"Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim during this tragic time," the OPP stated in a release. "We urge all motorists to practice defensive driving and maintain lane awareness on rural regional highways."
Highway 17 was closed in both directions for several hours while investigators mapped the collision scene with drone imaging. The road fully reopened early Saturday morning, and a coroner's report has been ordered.
