CHICAGO, Ill. — Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) marked the completion of 30 newly protected miles of concrete-curb bicycle lanes, connecting neighborhoods to the Loop.
Safer Streets for All
The design features raised pedestrian crosswalks, dedicated bus boarding islands, and protected bike signals to reduce traffic collisions.
"Every resident in Chicago deserves safe, accessible streets whether they walk, bike, take transit, or drive," Mayor Johnson stated.
Cycling Growth
Divvy bikeshare recorded all-time high ridership figures across the expanded neighborhood network.
