TORONTO, Ont. — Mayor Olivia Chow and the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) announced reinforced transit priority corridors designed to keep streetcars and buses moving efficiently through downtown.
Prioritizing Commuters
The plan introduces enhanced traffic signal priority technology, camera enforcement on restricted streetcar tracks, and adjusted curbside delivery hours.
"Over one hundred thousand people rely on our downtown streetcar network every single day," Mayor Chow said at City Hall. "These measures guarantee riders get to work and school reliably without getting stuck behind avoidable traffic congestion."

City staff will monitor travel time improvements and work with local merchants to ensure smooth delivery access.
