Ontario Permanently Increases Speed Limits to 110 km/h on Key Provincial Highways
Transportation Ministry expands higher speed limits across 10 additional highway sections to improve commercial freight flow.

TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario government has expanded its higher speed limit program, permanently raising limits from 100 km/h to 110 km/h on ten additional sections of provincial 400-series highways.
Modernizing Highway Corridors
Premier Doug Ford emphasized that sections of Highway 401, 403, 406, and 416 were engineered safely for modern traffic volumes and commercial logistics.
"These changes align Ontario with modern highway standards across Canada and the United States," Ford said.
Road Safety Oversight
The Ontario Provincial Police confirmed continued aerial and radar enforcement targeting aggressive and distracted driving.
